105 ( 10.5 metre) ladder in use. Passing it over the garden wall.
Ladder pitched, with Sub/Officer Dave Fisher at the head.
The firefighter on the ladder, looking down is Station Officer Tony Bowhay, now retired. I wonder where his fire helmet is.
This fire turned out to be a very difficult chimney which involved attacking the fire from the grate and gently applying water from the top using a hosereel. At the bottom of the ladder is Duty Officer ADO (Assistant Divisional Officer) John Eastley climbing up to have a word with Station Officer Tony Bowhay.

A fierce fire with very difficult access
The arrival of 174 (Torquay's Turntable Ladder) with the sawdust hopper well alight.
The grey building, with the car outside in the left foreground, going back as far as the wooden fencing, is Reeves Social Club, which caught fire at a later date, almost destroying the building.
